ICE Electrical Ltd is proud to have been part of the Garden City Helicopters Aircraft Hangar Project.

The project itself, based in Christchurch, had an enormous 9000 square metre footprint, customised to the Garden City Helicopter Team requirements. It needed to adhere to strict medical and operational requirements as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing building. It was a resounding success.

We based a remote working team onsite in Christchurch throughout the hangar’s construction, they worked closely with our New Plymouth based Project Management team, a roving site foreman and the construction team.

The hangar is a $23 million private, fully dedicated 24 hour full service aviation centre. It is like a mini airport with different areas for medical staff, patients, private jet owners and pilots. At the time of building, it was one of the largest of its kind in Australasia.

Projects such as this highlight the importance of client – contractor – subcontractor relationships, beginning at the conceptual stage and continuing through to completion.
