Len Lye Centre
Taranaki’s iconic Len Lye Centre is a testament to the resounding success that occurs when teams work together to achieve a common goal.
As the primary mechanical electrical contractor, ICE Electrical spent over 8000 hours on site and employed six specialist companies to assist with the installation of high level automated environmental control systems as well as lighting, security, data and audio visual solutions.
The $12M dollar building required expert project management to ensure the achievement of a successful and rewarding build. ICE Electrical delivered.
ICE Electrical partnered with Excel Refrigeration and Air Conditioning to utilise Siemens systems for Build Management Systems control. The Gallery is fitted with humidity and temperature control through a number of Air Handling Units, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, boilers and economiser systems. Getting this piece of the project right was crucial to the gallery’s ability to display as well as protect artwork.
Len Lye, the artist that the gallery is named for, is famous for his kinetic electricity powered sculpture art.
His work as well as ours will live on and be enjoyed at this Centre for many years to come.
