Pak’n Save New Plymouth & Hāwera
One of the largest projects of the year. With unexpected poor ground conditions, Foodstuffs spent more than one and a half million dollars to get above foundation stages including the installation of a basement flood water pump capable of shifting extreme quantities of possible flood water predicted once every 50 years.
Construction started mid 2005 but with over 4000 square meters of basement to be constructed first, ICE Electrical Solution prepared to install over 1000 meters of conduit and cabling for car park lighting and power.
One of the first Pak n Save stores in the country to have fully automated lighting system, ICE Electrical Solution employed a specialist sub contractor to manage the programming and commissioning.
Other features of this store include an on site back up generator, automated emergency lighting testing system, and energy conservation control of the main and back of store lighting.
After only 50% of this project completed the company was then awarded the Hawera store which was to be built concurrently with the New Plymouth Store. Ironically the Hawera store opened a week before the New Plymouth Store.
